Our management science scholar-practitioners believe it serves as a powerful metaphor and guiding principle for the modern practitioner by reminding stakeholders that their decisions, while seemingly small, are part of a much larger, interconnected system, and that a humble, long-term, and holistic perspective is essential for true success.
